Double Rainbow

Double Rainbow

Went out to take a picture for the first blog post.
Grey wether but I found a nice motive.
Went inside and started to upload it to my computer.

Looked out the window:
Strong wind, heavy rain and a breathtaking golden light.

Went out again, photographed the forest and the raindrops.
Turned and saw the double rainbow.
— Thank You! What a wonderful gift to start this journey with.

Does the Sky Connect Us?

Some days ago I sat down with a map and looked for a route to Egypt. My intention is to move in that direction, because I would like to see the Nile.

I’ve decided to only travel on the surface of the Planet, by train, bus and boat. So how to get from Sweden to Egypt?  If I take the west route I have to go trough Libya and the east route will take me trough Syria. Suddenly the conflicts in those two countries came close, very close. I was involved.

When I sat there looking at the map I heard the airplanes flying over me. So easy!
We live in this nice and safe country and then we take a nice and safe airplane and we are in an other place far away. Jumping over all the problems on the ground.

I don’t know the exact flight route to Thailand from Sweden, but there are countries like Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Burma on the path. If there were no airplanes — If we had fast trains instead, would we become more or less connected?

I took those three pictures today on a bike tour, thinking about this question.

Loving Nature …

As a consumer I love all my stuff and they all originates from nature.
As a person I love to be in nature, it’s so relaxing and wonderful.
As a photographer I love to see the endless beauty in nature.
I really love nature! Nature gives me everything.

When I take my photos I look for beauty
I look with open eyes and open mind and I often find beauty in unexpected places
I love to share this joy of beauty with others
So we all can see and enjoy
So we all can love nature in one more way …

But … all these ways are all a form of consumption.
Nature is there for me, for us. We get something from Nature.

Tough seeing beauty everywhere is a deeper relation than just using stuff …
Just as it’s a deeper relation to really see an other human, than to only use her service.

But there are more steps, we can relate to other humans as You. And realize that the Other is Me.

Can we go deeper  in our relation to Nature?
How would that relation look like?

The pictures are taken a week ago in the forest in Skane, in the south of Sweden.

The Grove nearby the railroad in Höör

This is a slideshow with pictures from the little grove I used to pas, when I walked to the railway station in Höör in Sweden.

I love to take pictures of all those things we normally don’t pay much attention to — to see what is really there. That’s why I prefer to take photos at places I know well. To go deeper into seeing. Here at Corsica I’m overwhelmed by the landscape. And the pictures I take becomes very truistic and shallow. No connection. It will change the longer I stay …

The music is played by the danish pianist Lars Penstoft, he is improvising while looking at the slideshow.
